An Event Sponsorship Agreement or Contract is a formal legal document that sets out the arrangement between an event host (eg the host of a film, music or arts festival) and a sponsor (eg a local business looking to promote its brand). An agreement goes further than a simple sponsorship proposal. An agreement creates a binding legal commitment, enforceable in a Court of law.
When you’re taking on a sponsor for an event you are hosting, make sure you get the contract in writing so you get paid and you minimise the risk of disputes.
On the other side of the deal, if you are sponsoring an event, be sure to put a Sponsorship Contract in black & white. It will help you protect your rights. It can ensure you receive the benefits you're paying for. And, protect your intellectual property so your brand is used in the right way.
